Whispers of Meroe is a short film about a man embarking on a long-awaited journey to visit the pyramids of his homeland, monuments he has never seen before. As he walks among the ancient structures, immersed in their grandeur, his phone rings. The news is devastating: war has erupted. Forced to rush back and flee the country for his safety, he witnesses the tragedies unfolding around him: displaced families, lost futures, and a nation in turmoil. In that moment, he begins to question the fate of his people. What will become of them? What will become of the country? Yet, as he looks back at the pyramids, silent witnesses to centuries of conflict, theft, and destruction, he sees that they still stand. And he wonders: Perhaps we are like them. Perhaps, even after everything, we too will endure.
